Daily Bible Reading for 2017

Daily Bible Reading for 2017

His delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.
Psalm 1:2

If you’ve never had a plan for your daily Bible reading, make 2017 the year you get started. You will benefit tremendously as you make a daily habit of mining the rich spiritual treasures of God’s Word.

Nathan Bingham has compiled a superb list of plans on the Ligonier website, and I highly recommend you give his article a look (click here). But if you prefer to dive in right away, you can get going with The MacArthur Daily Bible, which you can purchase here, visit this page for free each day (same content), or go here to download the “Grace to You Sermons App” (which also contains the daily Bible reading updates) for free on your smartphone.

(Note: Grace to You has other daily devotionals available as well, which make great resources for yourself and gifts for others. Here’s the shortlist: Daily Readings from the Life of Christ here, Drawing Near Devotional Bible here, and Strength for Today here. Grace to You also has a smartphone app for The MacArthur Study Bible, which is available here.)

If you’d like to go a bit deeper in your study of Scripture, check out this excellent article, “How to Study Your Bible.” It’s an insightful, practical guide to getting the most out of God’s Word (and steering you away from common errors of Bible interpretation). Then follow the advice in this article, “Simple Steps to Solid Study,” to get started in personal Bible study.

So what are you waiting for? Brew that coffee, put aside all distractions, sit down in your favorite reading spot, Bible in hand, and start enjoying the richest treasure God has given—the written revelation of His holy Word to you.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
Psalm 1:3
